Handshake student product updates—October 28, 2025

Degree level filter in job search [Launched: October 15, 2025] 

Job seekers can now filter job results based on the degree level qualifications set by employers on Handshake. For our job seekers, this means that it becomes easier to find jobs targeting Masters, PhD, or Associates degrees. Job seekers that fit the non-traditional degree category are able to find more relevant jobs based on their academic qualifications. More information can be found here.  

New job alert notifications [Launched: October 17, 2025] 

We’ve introduced a new paradigm for new job alert notifications that job seekers receive. We are moving towards a more job seeker-first approach. This approach allows us to ensure a more even distribution of alerts and improved relevance for our job seekers. As a part of this modification, we’ve also refined liquidity mechanics. So while alerts for job seekers may not appear instantly after a new job is created, this slight delay allows us to better assess job quality and fit before delivering the notification to job seekers.
