AI applicant management [Launched: September 8, 2025]

AI-powered applicant management helps recruiters source and engage qualified applicants fast. It is now available for all Handshake Plus and Pro customers.

Recruiters can enter applicant criteria (e.g. skills, majors), which Handshake uses to recommend applicants. Candidates profiles also include an AI-generated summary to help recruiters see the most critical information at a glance. Learn more here.

Post composer updates [Launched: September 9, 2025]

We launched a series of updates to the post composer:

• You can highlight text and paste a link onto it to create a hyperlink

  • Copy the URL you'd like to link to

  • Highlight the text you want to hyperlink

  • Click command+V (Mac) or ctrl+V (PC) to paste the link onto your highlighted text

• You can type : to pull up the emoji menu

• You can use the keyboard shortcut "Command + Enter" to send your post

Applicant Management: Enhanced Application Statuses [Launched: September 22, 2025]

Easily track candidates with updated statuses—Applied, Interviewing, Hired, Rejected—plus states that show whether an application has been reviewed. Clear labels help you spot who needs attention and keep your pipeline moving.

Applicant package emails [Rollout began: September 25, 2025]

Basic employers will no longer receive resumes or other applicant documents as attachments in application notification emails. Recruiters must log into Handshake to securely view application materials. Learn more here.
