Handshake student product updates—September 2, 2025

Dark mode on iOS [Launched: August 19, 2025]

Previously in beta, dark mode within the Handshake app is now available for all job seekers on iOS. Dark mode is available for users who have dark mode enabled within their system. 

Custom Handshake URLs [Launched: August 20, 2025] 

All job seekers across iOS and web are able to claim and set their own custom URL, if they have at least 70% of their profile complete. These custom URLs allow job seekers to turn their Handshake profile into a professional asset that is uniquely theirs and proudly share during the job search process. More information here. 

Brand pages accessible from Events & Fairs [Launched: August 22, 2025] 

Job seekers can easily access an employer's brand page across all event & fair types. By clicking on an employer’s logo or brand name, job seekers will be able to navigate to their brand page for more information about their company. 

People search available on iOS [Launched: August 26, 2025] 

Job seekers on iOS are now able to search for other users within the Handshake app. This feature allows job seekers to unlock quick and on-the-go connections making discovery more accessible. 

Magic links on web [Launched: August 28, 2025] 

Magic links allow job seekers to log into their Handshake account directly from their email without the need to enter a password. This allows the Handshake login experience to be quicker and more seamless.
