Resume visibility language [Launched: May 15, 2026]

Historically, when students have uploaded a resume, they've seen an option to make the resume "public". We've made this language clearer and more value driven so—it's now called "visible to employers" and explains that making your resume visible helps employers learn about you. It also clarifies that the resume will not be visible to your peers.

AI badges [Launched: May 4, 2026]

We've launched two new badges that are applied to student profiles to highlight their AI skills and help them stand out to employers. Students who have tasked for Handshake AI for 5+ hours get an "AI Fellow" badge. Students who have submitted an AI project to the AI showcase get an "AI project builder" badge.

Sidekick [Beta launched: April 15, 2026]

Sidekick, which is now live for a small percentage of students at beta schools, allows students to refine their resume with step by step advice, based on the industry or role they're most interested in.

AI showcase [Launched: March 25, 2026]

The AI showcase allows students to highlight projects they've built with AI to their peers and to employers. It will also serve as a hub where students can gain access to resources that help them build career-relevant AI skills.
