Social sign-on [Launched: June 24, 2025]

We've introduced the ability for job seekers to sign on using their Google or Apple credentials, making it easier for users to access the platform. This update is live for web users and has started rolling out to iOS users. It will be available on Android later this summer.

People search context highlights [Beta launch: June 26, 2025]

We’ve started to add short phrases to highlight why individuals are showing up in search results. This context helps to explain the match and provide students with higher confidence to engage with other users.

Updated follow recommendations [Beta launch: June 27, 2025]

When students first join Handshake, they’re encouraged to follow peers to start building their network. We’ve started to take into account factors like shared majors, career interests, or school year to make recommendations more relevant.

Jobs from followed collections in feed [Launched: June 27, 2025]

We’ve started showing new jobs from the collections students follow directly within the feed, making it even easier for students to stay updated on opportunities curated for them by their career center.

Job search filter updates [Launched: June 30, 2025]

To increase the usefulness of filters, job seekers now see a live count of how many jobs they’ll see after selecting filters. They also no longer need to select “apply” in order for collection or location filters to take effect.

Redesigned login/registration pages [Beta launched: July 3, 2025]

We’ve started updating the look and feel of the login and self-registration pages. There are no changes in functionality, but the refreshed design provides a positive first impression of Handshake and aligns with other recent branding updates, such as changes to our website.
