Handshake student product updates—July 31, 2025

In-app notifications on certain feed posts [Launched July 23, 2025] 

We’ve launched a new in-app notification that alerts a user when a student in their school, major, and graduation year makes a feed post, encouraging students to engage with the feed. This is limited to one notification per day, which will apply to whomever in one’s cohort posts first that day.

New onboarding flow [Launched: July 30, 2025]

We’ve rolled out a refreshed onboarding experience for new users. We’ve significantly streamlined the process to focus on collecting the information that will enhance a student’s Handshake experience right from the start, such as roles that sound interesting, desired job locations, and notification preferences.  We’re also encouraging them to start building their professional identity and network.
